That's what I did. Got a developer API key, patched the 3rd party app, good to go.


Me too, I intercepted the network requests and rewrote the key and token (and user agent ^.^ I wonder if any reddit admins here would recognize it...) in the request to access_token, or whatever the endpoint is idr

The insight into publisher royalties is interesting for sure. Though I will say regarding ansible, I just can't like it. I rather use a python library like netmiko for configuration of vm's.


Eh, I hate the model of giving free access to grow your userbase (which has contributed back to the platform through content), then leverage that later for profit. Either provide access for free, recognizing that in doing so you gain externalities through the added user engagement, user data to mine etc, or just don't do it. The only caveat would be the problem of LLMs etc mining all of reddit for free via API.
